Federal and Military employees can take advantage of one of the most effective and efficient ways to support the important work of the Wild Dolphin Project by donating through the Combined Federal Campaign. We count on your gifts to support our ongoing research, as well as enabling us to learn more about the dolphins and their environment in which they live.  Donating through the CFC will allow us to gain more knowledge, better equipping us to help protect them In Their World…On Their Terms....

Workplace Matching Gifts

Many companies offer generous benefits such as matching employee contributions to charities. We encourage you to ask the Human Resources Department at your workplace to discover the process to engage your employer. Here is a brief list of companies and their matching gifts program:

American Express will match gifts to organizations up to $8,000)

AOL matches gifts to environmental organizations

Apple matches gift for full-time and part-time employees up to $10,000

Bristol-Myers Squibb employees are eligible to request up to $30,000 in matching gifts annually

British Petroleum offers a 100% match on all money raised by employees for charity runs, walks, etc

Capital Group will match every donation between $100 and $5,000

Carmax matches donations made by an employee’s dependents until they turn 26

Coco-Cola offers a 2:1 ratio for it's gift matching program for full-time and retired employees

Disney & Pixar offer gift matching up to $15,000

Dun & Bradstreet offers full-time and part-time employee matching up to $4,000

Fannie Mae Corporation allows gift matching up to $2,500

Gap Corporation offers one of the most comprehensive and easy to use online systems to submit match requests

General Electric will match gifts to organizations up to $5,000

Goldman Sachs Group offers matching gifts up to $20,000 for full time employees

Hewlett Packard allows gift matching up to $1,000 in cash or $15,000 in HP technology

IBM offers gift matching up to $5,000 for Full-time and part-time employees as well as retirees

Johnson & Johnson offers a gift matching program up to $20,000 at a rate of 2:1 for current employees and 1:1 for all retirees

JPMorgan Chase & Co offers gift matching up to $1,000 for full-time and part-time employees

MBIA provides 2:1 matches on all donations up to $20,000 per employee each year

Microsoft - More than $1 billion donated through employee giving programs since instituting a match program

Pfizer's giving programs raise $33.7 million a year with over 40,000 matching gift requests

State Street Corporation matches the fundraising efforts of its employees up to $5,000 annually

Did you Know

Spotted dolphin calves are unspotted and look like young bottlenose dolphins.

Spotted dolphins regurgitate hard, indigestible parts of their food, such as squid beaks and fish vertebrae.

As spotted dolphins grow up they learn how to behave from their mothers and also from siblings, peers, and elders in the society.

Juvenile spotted dolphins babysit younger spotteds.

As a spotted dolphin grows up, its role and responsibilities in the dolphin community change Sometimes spotted dolphins travel, forage for food, and socialize with bottlenose dolphins.

 

Atlantic spotted dolphins are relatively unstudied, compared to their pan-tropical cousins who have been slaughtered in the tuna nets.

Spotted dolphins use their signature whistles in many different ways, including initiating contact with other dolphins.

Spotted dolphins can be identified over long periods of time by spot patterns, by flukes, and by dorsal fins.
